Brendan – A Sad Goodbye

Today is the time to say a very sad goodbye,
So young, we sit and wonder why.

Our Heavenly Father said, “Come to me,”
Brendan now in heavenly glory—
How we wish we could just see.

Two sets of twins, Sophie and more,
Brendan now with Jesus, with a spiritual body pure.

Because of Adam and Eve’s sin, we all must die,
But we have the good news of God’s Kingdom,
Though still we sit and sigh.

Brendan, you were one of the best solicitors in England, on the Children Panel,
In Turkey—did you ever ride on a camel?

On a cold winter day, snow in the air,
Down comes a robin, sitting with a stare.

On a cool spring day, the sky with a glimmer,
A white feather—though the clouds make it dimmer.

The feather is found at the front door,
But not just one—there are four more.

Brendan will let you know he is always there,
So look for the signs—you will wonder where.

Even Jesus Christ cried for His friend Lazarus who passed away,
Then the tomb was left empty, resurrected on that day.

Very soon God’s plan will come to be,
The resurrection song—you just wait and see.

The cathedral church was full of Brendan’s colleagues and friends,
Service users too—it never ends.

Thank you so much, Brendan—a life well done,
Your fighting spirit—home the children would come.

The sun was shining on Brendan’s face that day,
Off to a place with a golden, forever ray.

So please remember, Brendan is very near,
Celebrate his life—with a drink and a cheer.
