CATH

This year, next year, the time goes so fast.

Five years ago, I remember it was the day that you passed.

Sadness and grief, a day of despair,
Memories of special places and the time that we did share.

The hospital, and the same ward is still there,
Where we worked on the night shift, with excellent patient care.

I miss the laughs, the trips into town,
Molly O’Grady’s, getting a few St Patrick’s Day drinks down.

Trips to Brugge, Austria, and Paris, having fun,
Belgian chocolates melting, sitting in the sun.

We even stayed in a castle, luxury for all,
All dressed up in long dresses, what a good call.

Salzburg, The Sound of Music, the church where they wed,
The lake and the mountains, the place where they fled.

I miss you more than words can say,
Weeks, years, every day.

Sometime soon, when the trumpets call,
Jesus Christ will be coming down from the sky to amend Adam and Eve’s fall.

A glorious new earth with Christ’s millennial reign,
No more sorrow, illness, death, or pain.

Until then, we await the resurrection day,
When we will all be together forever to stay.
