FIONA

I went to the hospital, but it was all in vain,

No smiling face or spoken words—
Our Heavenly Father had taken you to heaven, a very sorrowful shame.

You called me on the Saturday, I really did try to get there on Monday in time,
But the angels decided to take you on a splendid heavenly climb.

Three weeks have passed by since you left this earthly plain,
Now our very sad loss is your celestial gain.

I cannot come to terms that you are now in a better place,
No more shopping trips or lovely food to taste.

I will miss meeting up with you in Leicester in the pouring rain,
Now watching over us with no more sorrow or pain.

The sickly feeling in my stomach, the tears will not go away,
But I know the faith that you had as you transcend on your way.

I have the hope of our Heavenly Father’s resurrection plan,
When on the top of Mount Zion the lion will walk with the lamb.

The memories I will treasure until that joyful day,
When we will all be united together—the chain will remain and stay.

Fiona, I will miss you more than words can say,
Weeks, years, every day.
